GETEC tenant electricity projects save 1,000 tons of CO2 per year

The GETEC Mieterstrom GmbH joint venture founded by GETEC and EINHUNDERT at the beginning of the year for the targeted expansion of tenant electricity projects is picking up speed. In May, 100 apartments in Norderstedt, Hamburg and Horneburg were already supplied with low-cost, clean and locally produced green electricity. By the end of the year, a further 1,200 apartments are to be added. An order of magnitude equivalent to a CO2 saving of 1,000 tons of CO2 per year.

GETEC Mieterstrom GmbH is advancing tenant electricity models from photovoltaics and combined heat and power (CHP) plants in neighborhoods of the future for GETEC customers. Since the beginning of the year, GETEC as the market leader in the field of decentralized energy services and Einhundert Energie GmbH as a specialist for scalable and digital tenant electricity solutions have been pooling their expertise to make GETEC customers' neighborhoods more forward-looking and efficient. Einhundert will take over tenant communication and end customer processing and provide software and digital services.
Another advantage is the simultaneous installation of digitally readable smart meters. This means that consumption data is displayed on the software platform on a daily basis. This offers end customers maximum transparency of consumption, electricity costs and the solar quote in the electricity mix. The budget billing logic is eliminated, so tenants only pay the amount per month that they have actually consumed. When the sun isn't shining, green power is automatically replenished from the grid.

The supply potential in the neighborhoods of the future is several 1,000 residential units in the coming years and is to be successively equipped with highly efficient energy generation systems.
